Hello 2026!!
This here YouTube channel, 1ROAD, is doing pretty decent though it definitely could be better. I've had some smash-hit short-format videos recently, linked below:
Recently, YouTube Shorts have had a time limit increase to 3 minutes which was a welcome surprise as it's a lot more useable for my style. Furthermore, I find the shorter more restrictive time constraint, when compared to full-length videos, actually causing me to be more creative. In a way, being stuck in that 3 minute box is making me think outside the box.
Smash hits aside, I've also had some videos that didn't do so well. It happens to the best of us and there really is no one absolute reason this happens. It certainly doesn't mean the video was poorly produced or presented. It could simply be related to a lower interest topic, an uninteresting title or thumbnail, or all of the above. What I'm inadvertently trying to say is the few videos linked below may not have gotten very many views but they are certainly, in my very biased opinion, good videos! Give them a watch and see for yourselves:
I love this truck. Yes, I just called it a truck. To me it's every bit a truck as it is a car and a van. If you asked me what the perfect automobile is right now I would tell you it's a Suburban (or Yukon XL). Just look around on the roads, most all trucks you see have camper shells on them or some form of bed cover. They're just begging to be everything that a Suburban already is.
This newer (than the '95) Suburban was a nice find at the time. Bought from the original owner, always garaged and with approximately 67k miles. The family loves this thing due to its increased creature comforts. What I notice when compared to the 1995 Suburban is more power and throttle response, better fuel economy, quieter more comfortable ride, better hvac, better stereo sound, more comfortable seats, better storage... etc. That being said, I still love the 95!
This 2005 Envoy was an awesome find. My wife needed a smaller vehicle for the city she said... So, I just so happened to find a low mileage, original owner GM SUV that's got a somewhat bulletproof motor with good power and is still a 4x4. Plenty of mods and repairs to this thing on the channel so check it out.
In case you were wondering what exact camera I use to film my videos, it's this one: Sony RX100V.
This camera may be small but it's a firecracker to be sure. There's lots to say about this thing but I think the video it produces speaks a million words. *I am part of the Amazon Associate program. We have merch! New '1R' stickers that are available solely through this website! I know, it's just stickers but hey it's a start. And they're cool. Glow in the dark or metalic.
I will be figuring out the best way to get these into your hands soon! Until then you can head over to the @1roadgarage instagram account to see the latest news!
Some people have been asking what equipment I use to film and edit all my videos. I do always provide links in the description of each video but here is an official list of everything I like to use to make my videos. *I am part of the Amazon Associate program. This is by no means an exhaustive list but definitely some of the main items I use right now to film, capture audio and more. I will update this list as time goes on. Hope this helps.
FYI: I am not getting paid by any of these companies though I am part of the Amazon associates program and these are associate links... Some of these products may not be right for YOU so do your own due diligence. Also, please know I am not backing these companies or saying they are the best, rather simply listing stuff I currently use to get the job done. Thank you!
I'm a YouTuber and loving it! I film mostly repairs and modifications to my fleet of GM vehicles and love the process. I love exploring and using my vehicles too! Plenty of overlanding and truck camping videos to come!
